"Smooth move overall, but onboarding dragged a little"
We switched over to Confluent and, for the most part, the setup went smoothly. The onboarding calls were useful, but I’ll be honest, a few of the docs were confusing and I got a bit impatient trying to piece things together. Support did respond fairly quickly, which helped. Overall, I’m happy with the move, just wish the whole onboarding part had been a little clearer and faster.

"Better than I expected for keeping data organized"
We’ve been using Confluent mainly for streaming, and I expected the governance side to be a bit of a chore. But the schema registry and lineage features have been really useful for seeing what changed and where the data is actually going. It’s already helped us avoid a few messy mistakes. The setup wasn’t exactly effortless, but once we got it running, it’s been dependable.

"Scaled with us, no headaches"
As our team kept growing and we added more users and topics, the platform handled everything smoothly. No major issues, no dramatic outages, and thankfully no late-night troubleshooting marathons. It’s been a solid, reliable choice for us.

"Helpful for Kafka monitoring, with a few quirks"
confluent has made it a lot easier for us to keep an eye on our Kafka streams. I can usually spot lag, throughput issues, errors, or weird topic behavior quickly without having to dig through a bunch of places. The dashboards are straightforward, and the alerts have genuinely saved us a couple times. That said, I do have some mixed feelings because a few menus aren’t super intuitive at first and take some getting used to. Still, once you get comfortable with it, it makes observability much less of a headache overall.

"I mean, the docs were actually clear, which..."
I mean, the docs were actually clear, which was a nice surprise. I was setting things up and, you know, whenever I ran into something weird, I could usually find the fix quickly without digging around forever

"Billing makes sense, but I’m tired of digging through yet another dashboard"
I’ve been using confluent for a few months now, and overall the billing has been straightforward. The usage breakdown is actually helpful, and I can usually tell what’s driving the cost before the invoice shows up, which is a relief.
That said, some of the metrics weren’t obvious to me at first, and I had to poke around longer than I wanted to. i’m a little worn out from having to learn a new billing layout for every service we use, but this one is still clearer than a lot of other cloud tools I’ve dealt with

"Kafka finally feels manageable"
Kafka was starting to become a real pain for our team, especially with upgrades and all the random operational stuff that kept popping up. confluent has made it feel way less chaotic and saved us a lot of time. It’s not perfect, and if the pricing or support started slipping, we’d probably have to look at other options. But for now, it’s taken a lot of stress off our small team.
"Easy enough once you get it set up"
I’ve had a good experience with Confluent overall. Once I got through the initial setup, it was straightforward to use, and the dashboard is laid out in a way that actually makes sense. Finding topics and checking messages hasn’t been a hassle. I did have to do some reading to get everything going, and a few of the error messages could definitely be clearer. It feels like the kind of thing where making those details easier to understand would be a fair ask for users just trying to do their jobs. Still, solid experience overall, so I’d give it 4 stars.

"The security feels really solid, the compliance..."
The security feels really solid, the compliance side of things is just a lot less of a headache now. Audits are easier to deal with, which is a huge win

"Something feels a little off with the dashboard"
The dashboard works, but it feels kind of clunky to use. The UI is okay, nothing terrible, but I kept wondering if I was missing something or if it was just not laid out very well. It does the job, but I’m not totally convinced it’s as polished as it should be

"Really solid Kafka help when things get messy"
We’ve been using Confluent for a few Kafka workloads, and the thing that really stood out is how deep their Kafka knowledge goes. Like, when you’re dealing with connectors, Schema Registry, random consumer lag that makes no sense, actually, that part drove us nuts for a bit, their docs and support folks seem to understand the real-world messy stuff, not just the happy path.
It wasn’t all instantly simple, and a few setup pieces took me some trial and error before they clicked. But when we ran into issues, the answers we got were genuinely useful, not the usual copy-paste support replies. Overall, I’m happy with it...

"Pretty fast overall, with the occasional slowdown"
I’ve used a few similar setups before, and this one has been solid for the most part. Throughput is definitely fast enough for what I need, though I do notice it can dip a bit when there’s a heavier load. Nothing too major, just a few hiccups here and there.

"Support got back to me quickly"
I only had to contact support once, but they replied fast and were actually helpful. If that’s how they usually handle things, I’d say their support is solid.

"Finally, a setup that didn’t wear me out"
I’ve dealt with so many services lately that make getting started feel like a chore, so I was bracing myself for another annoying setup. But this one was painless. I got it running quickly without much hassle, which was a nice change...

"Still remember how relieved I felt when it finally clicked"
We’ve been using Confluent for real-time data streams, it’s been really dependable for us. I still remember the first week of setup feeling a little intimidating, especially while getting my head around everything, but once it was up and running, it was a big relief. It handles events quickly, and the monitoring has made our day-to-day work a lot easier. If your team is already working with Kafka, it’s a solid tool to have in place.

"Good value, but the costs can creep up"
It’s been working well for our team overall, and I do think it’s a solid value. That said, the pricing can climb quickly once your usage starts growing. Some of the extra costs feel a little unnecessary, so it’s worth keeping an eye on before you get too deep into it

"Pretty good managed Kafka, though not perfect"
Overall, it’s been good. The managed Kafka setup works fine for what we need, and I haven’t had to think about it too much, which is kind of the point. There have been a few small hiccups here and there, nothing too wild, but enough to notice. Pricing still feels a bit tricky to figure out sometimes... like, it makes sense eventually, but not right away.

"Connectors saved us lot of time"
We mostly use Confluent for connectors, and it made our setup much easier. Getting data from Postgres and few cloud tools into Kafka was smooth, without us having to overthink every little piece.
Some of the config did take bit of trial and error, but the docs were usually enough to get us unstuck. I also like that there are so many ready-made integrations already there, so you are not starting from zero.
So far it has been stable for us, and it saved our team from building bunch of custom stuff ourselves. That was probably biggest win for us.

"Pretty dependable overall"
I’ve been happy with it most days. I’m probably a little biased because I really value reliability over flashy features, but it’s been stable for us and only had a few minor hiccups here and there.
